Passing through the corridor into the first room, an air model of a man’s lower body occupies the space in a puppy’s peeing position. The first idea was to make a female lower body in high heels, which was intended to be a counterpart to Niki de Saint Phalle’s hon-en katedral, a work that shows a woman in labor. Instead, I switched directions to show the opposite of motherhood, the sexualized side of women, which led to the theme I wanted to show later. However, the idea was finally suspended in early March last year, when I first made the entire exhibition proposal, and the city was closed in April, which felt like a bit of a reversal of the worldview at that time, it was too absurd, life was much wittier than creation, and the space was closed in August, emo for a long time, I began to doubt whether my whole motive was meaningless. I didn’t do much work. Later, I met with the curator, and at that time, there was also the incident of Song Tuo’s school flower, so we discussed the possibility of using the lower half of a man’s body, and it seemed that men wearing high heels were associated with transvestism, which wasn’t what I wanted to do. In the end, we came up with the idea of using a dog peeing as an angry response to the policy, and the viewer having to bend over and go through a rat hole to get everyone to lower their height.
